KBA CUSTOM CARBON FIBER BORE ALIGNMENT RODS
Conduct a quick, safe, and accurate check of bore alignment without damaging the barrel’s crown or rifling. A bore alignment check should always be done after installing new muzzle devices to ensure that a muzzle device and/or suppressor is correctly aligned on the barrel. Without verifying this alignment, the bullet could strike and severely damage the baffles or aperture of the suppressor.
Other alignment rods on the market are made from hardened steel which could scratch the rifling, or nick the crown, negatively affecting accuracy. Inserting any hard metallic object into a firearm’s bore is never recommended, especially on precision firearms!
The KBA Custom Carbon Fiber Bore Alignment Rods are precision ground from carbon fiber tubes that are custom wrapped. This process allows KBA to hold extremely tight runout tolerances over their entire length (less than 0.002” T.I.R.). The portion that fits into the firearm’s bore is sized and very tightly toleranced to ensure a precise fit for accurate alignment.
The Rods are ground with a small shoulder that will safely rest on the crown to prevent it from falling down into the bore. They are long enough to leave enough Rod protruding past the suppressor to visually verify concentricity between the Rod and the aperture. The OD of the Rod that protrudes out of the muzzle device is the same size as the exiting bullet’s OD.
Each Rod is clearly laser engraved with the caliber it fits, as well as the actual bore ID range it is designed for. They are packaged in a clear triangular storage tube that will not roll off your workbench.
TECHNICAL NOTES
- Rods are 16.5" long, with 10.9" protruding from the crown.
- The 7.62/.30 caliber rod is sized for a 0.2990"-0.3000" bore. This will cover all calibers based on a .30 caliber bore, including metric equivalents such as 7.62x39mm.
