The CGS Helios QD Ti is a compact, quick attach silencer that is designed for 5.56 semiautomatic rifles. The "varying core diameter" is unique to CGS, and allows for optimum sound suppression without additional length. It is excellent at reducing flash signature, and ensures a minimal and repeatable POI shift. The taper interface prevents carbon lock after extreme amounts of use. The Ti variant is made from full DMLS Grade V Titanium allowing for great strength and durability without the added weight.
With 5.56, the Helios QD Ti is extremely low backpressure due to the generous bore. This also allows it to be used on larger calibers, all the way up to 300 Norma mag. The "Bravo" or "Omega" mounting thread pitch (1.375x24) accepts a number of mounting solutions. While it comes with both 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 direct thread mounts, it can utilize almost every mounting system currently available. The front caps are interchangeable as well. The CGS Helios QD Ti ships with a sealed cap for maximum sound suppression, as well as a ported cap to reduce blowback if needed.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The CGS Helios QD is both quiet and low backpressure- something not usually found together in rifle silencers. The 3D printing allows for CGS to design baffle geometry not available by traditional production means. The titanium version brings everything to the next level. The QD Ti is still quiet, low backpressure, but also under 10 ounces without the mount. While the price point of the Helios QD Ti is higher, it comes with many more accessories than the competition. A custom foam hardcase houses the silencer, as well as both a 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 direct thread mount. Out of the box it can be attached to nearly any commercially available rifle with a threaded barrel. In addition to the mounts and case, it also has a secondary front cap. The optional front cap is vented to reduce backpressure for lefthanded shooters, or for those with rifles very sensitive to backpressure. The CGS Helios QD Ti is the whole package.
